Max E. Uhl, Hamilton
The funeral for Max E. Uhl, a lifelong resident of Hamilton, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Wilson Funeral Home in Madison. The Rev. Vernon Clark will conduct the service. Burial will be in Woods Cemetery, southwest of Madison.
Mr. Uhl died Monday, May 21, 2007, at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka. He was 84.
He was a farmer and stockman and also worked in the oil fields.
The son of Archer and Nellie Curry Uhl, he was born Aug. 17, 1922, in rural Hamilton. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1940.
He married Betty Soule Flomerfelt on June 25, 1972. She survives.
Mr. Uhl is also survived by two stepdaughters, Joyce Lea Lorance of Emporia and Carol Sue Plaisted of Lane; and three grandchildren. Two brothers, Francis Uhl and Lawrence Uhl, died earlier.
