Keneith Junior Jones, Cottonwood Falls

Junior Jones died Thursday, May 17, 2007, at his home in Cottonwood Falls. He was 71.
A service celebrating his life will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Cottonwood Falls. The family will meet friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. to service time Monday at the church.

Keneith Junior Jones, 81, died Thursday, May 17, 2007, at his home in Cottonwood Falls. A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the United Methodist Church in Cottonwood Falls with the Rev. Melody Kimbrel officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Cottonwood Falls.
The family will meet friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls. Friends may call from noon until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.
Keneith Junior Jones, the son of Charles “Casey” and Ella Mae Shaft Jones, was born Feb. 8, 1926, at Atwood. He married Dorothy Murdock Embers on May 25, 1952. They later divorced. He married Joyce Carey on Nov. 30, 1985, at Cottonwood Falls, Ks.
Mr. Jones had worked for several years for Beaver Implement in Strong City and for 15 years at the IBP plant in Emporia. He and his son, Larry, owned and operated Jones Truck and Tractor Shop in Strong City for 14 years. He also farmed during that time with his father and later with his brother, Tom. In recent years, he raised Longhorn cattle.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, of the home; three sons, Charles and Jerry Jones of Cottonwood Falls and Larry Jones of Strong City; a daughter, Laleigh Campbell of Lawrence; a brother, Tom Jones of Cottonwood Falls; three sisters, Donna Carson and Elizabeth Beikmann of Manhattan and Margaret Westfahe of Haven; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kenny, in 1982, and a brother, Bill Jones.
Memorial contributions to Hand-in-Hand Hospice or Cottonwood Falls United Methodist Church may be sent in care of the funeral home, 201 Cherry, Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845.
