Mary Catherine Briscoe

TOPEKA
Olpe native and former Emporian Mary Catherine Briscoe died Monday, May 14, 2007, at her home in Topeka.
Born Jan. 2, 1917, in Olpe, she graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School and attended Kansas State Teachers College for one year. She worked at John Morrell Packing Co. in Topeka, where she met her future husband, Harry J. Briscoe. They married June 6, 1943, in St. Louis.
Survivors include her husband, a son, Harry Briscoe Jr. of Kingwood, Texas, and a daughter, Molly Morris of Riverside, Calif.
Mrs. Briscoe was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, PEO Chapter FI, the Topeka Country Club, the BNSF Old Timers and a neighborhood bridge club.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the church may be sent in care of the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 S.W. Sixth, Topeka, KS 66603.
