Elizabeth "Betty" A. Tastove, Westphalia

Elizabeth A. “Betty” Tastove of Westphalia died Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at the University of Kansas Hospital. She was 80.
Mrs. Tastove was the mother of Jim Tastove of Cottonwood Falls, Leo Tastove of Lebo and Kevin Tastove of Bazaar.
She was born July 22, 1926, at Westphalia, the daughter of Herman and Emma Lovina Plunkett Dieker. She married Henry John Tastove on Oct. 30, 1944 in Westphalia. He died Aug. 5, 1991.
Mrs. Tastove was a cook at Westphalia School for 18 years. She was a member of St. Teresa Church and the Altar Society.
Other survivors include sons Ronald Tastove, Frank Tastove, Dennis Tastove, Robert Tastove and Tim Tastove of Westphalia and Patrick Tastove of Garnett; one daughter, Nancy Hess of LeRoy; one brother, Tom Dieker of Westphalia; three sisters, Lorene Altenbernd and Shirley Henderson of Lawrence and Alice Frisch of Sunnyvale, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Jerome Henry Tastove and John Francis Tastove; three brothers, Francis Dieker, Wilfred Dieker and Gerald Dieker; and one sister, Wilma Faber.
The family will meet with friends at 7 p.m. today at the church after a wake service. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, conducted the Rev. Jim Dieker. Burial will be at St. Teresa Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the church.
