M. Maxine Martin, Madison

MADISON
The funeral for M. Maxine Martin, a longtime resident of Madison, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Christian Church in Madison. The Rev. Bob Robison will conduct the service. Burial will be at Fairfiew Cemetery, northeast of Madison.
The family requests that, instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the First Christian Church in Madison or the Madison Library and sent in care of the Wilson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 488, Madison, KS 66860.
Mrs. Martin died Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at Newman Regional Health. She was 85.
She was a homemaker.
The daughter of John and Gladys Dickinson Wolfe, she was born Sept. 29, 1921, in Oil Hill. She grew up and attended school in Madison.
She married Dale C. Martin on Feb. 20, 1937, at Madison. He died July 16, 1996.
Mrs. Martin was a member of the First Christian Church in Madison. She also was a member of the Prairie Light home demonstration unit, Royal Neighbors and Sunshine Camping Club.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn McHaley of Madison; one son, Dail Dean Martin of Madison; two sisters, Loma Jean Panek of Tryon, Okla., and Colleen Rhodes of Richland, Wash.; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
One daughter, Jane Arndt; and two brothers, Jack Wolfe and George Wolfe, died earlier.
