Janice Carol Williams, Council Grove

Janice Carol Williams of Dunlap, formerly of Burdick and Salina, died Monday, March 26, 2007, at the Holiday Resort care center in Emporia. She was 63.
Mrs. Williams and her husband, Robert Williams, owned and operated a lawn care and landscaping business in Salina for 19 years. Earlier, she worked as a certified nurses’ aide at a Topeka nursing home, the Council Grove Healthcare Center and Asbury Hospital in Salina.
The daughter of Carl E. and Mary Hird Peterson, she was born Aug. 9, 1943, at Burdick. She graduated from Centre High School and attended Salina Vocational Technical School for certified nurses aide training. She completed her CNA training at Fort Sam Houston and served during the time of the Bay of Pigs.
She married Robert Dean Williams on May 20, 1967, at Council Grove. He survives.
She is also survived by two sons, Chris Williams and Carl Mitchell, both of Salina; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Her parents and an infant sister, Carla, died earlier.
Memorial services are pending at the Penwell-Gabel Council Grove Chapel. Mrs. Williams was cremated.
