LaVera Reust, Americus
The funeral for LaVera Reust will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Americus Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.

Mrs. Reust died Thursday, March 22, 2007, at her home near Americus. She was 87.
She was a school teacher at Dow Valley, south of Allen, at Allen Grade School, at Cottonwood Falls and at Augusta. After her marriage, she helped her husband, Harry Reust, farm.
The daughter of John H. and Sadie Hull Reidel, she was born June 22, 1919, at her grandparents’ farm near Matfield Green. When she was about nine months old, she and her family moved to a farm south of Allen. She graduated from Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia with a teaching certificate.
She married Harry E. Reust on May 31, 1947, at her parents’ farm near Allen. He died Nov. 21, 2000.
Mrs. Reust was a member of the Emporia First Church of the Nazarene for about 60 years. She taught Sunday school and was a member of the Missionary Society. She was a quilter for many years and had hand-quilted hundreds of quilts for family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Reust of Allen and Donald Reust of the home; one daughter, Carolyn Reust Moore of Ridgefield, Wash.; two sisters, Dorothy Marcotte of Allen and Una Mae Kuhn of Admire; and five grandchildren. One sister, Estella Marcotte, died earlier.
