Gladys May Diehl, Cottonwood Falls

The service to celebrate the life of Gladys May Diehl will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home chapel at Cottonwood Falls. The Rev. David Gass of the Cedar Point Community Church will conduct the service. Burial will be in the Bazaar Cemetery at Bazaar. The family will meet friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends also may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday.
Memorial contributions to the Gladys Diehl Memorial Fund may be sent in care of the funeral home, 201 Cherry, Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845.
Mrs. Diehl died Monday, March 26, 2007, at the Golden Living Center of Chase County in Cottonwood Falls. She was 95.
The daughter of Milton R. and Mary F. Sanders Hill, she was born Nov. 26, 1911, at Ramsey, Ill. She married Aaron C. Diehl on Nov. 24, 1932, at Jetmore. She was a homemaker and also farmed in Chase County with her husband.
Mrs. Diehl was a member of the Bazaar United Methodist Church and the church Ladies Aid Association.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Ann Kirk of Cottonwood Falls; two sisters, Elma Briggs of Dodge City and Olivia Rylant of Fresno, Calif.; one grandson; and two great-grandsons. A son, Charles E. Diehl, died Nov. 6, 2003. Four brothers — Robert, Leon, Raymond and Russell Hill — died earlier.
