Robert Walter Ricketts, Jacobs Creek

Robert Walter Ricketts died Sunday, March 25, 2007, at his home in Jacobs Creek. He was 72.
Mr. Ricketts spent the majority of his career as manager of Lakeside Center and Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., and later worked in construction before he retired. He and his wife moved to Jacobs Creek in 1988. He was an Army veteran.
The son of LeRoy and Leta Beatrice Sanders Ricketts, he was born Dec. 15, 1934, in Merriam. He married Juanita Dealey on Sept. 13, 1979, in Miami, Okla. She survives.
Mr. Ricketts is also survived by three daughters, Cathi Hahner of Basehor, Tami Powell of Merriam and Sandi Onions of Kansas City, Kan.; his mother, Leta “Bea” Woods of Overland Park; a sister, Tempie Muchnick of Mission Hills; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Strawn Cemetery in Jacobs Creek. Mr. Ricketts was cremated.
