Harold Franklin ‘KO’ Keith, Burlington

Harold Franklin “KO” Keith died Friday, March 23, 2007, at his home in Burlington. He was 82.
Mr. Keith hauled livestock for 60 years, first for Howard Applegate, before operating his own business, Keith Trucking, for many years. He retired in 2002. In 1991, he received the Agri-Business Person of the Year at Burlington and in 1992, he was presented a citizenship award from the Burlington mayor.
The son of Frank and Blanche Watts Keith, he was born Nov. 24, 1924, west of Burlington. He attended Patmos Rural School and Strawn High School.
He is survived by two sisters, Christine Hutchinson and Virginia Kelly, both of Emporia; and his special friend and caretaker, Amy Baird of Burlington.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. Burial will be at Strawn Cemetery, northwest of Burlington. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
