William “Bill” Shepard, Cottonwood Falls

William “Bill” Shepard died Saturday, March 17, 2007, at the Golden Living Center of Chase County in Cottonwood Falls. He was 76.
Mr. Shepard was a delivery man for the lumber yard in Cottonwood Falls and, also, a trucker. He served in the U.S. Air Force until he received a medical discharge after an accidental injury.
The son of William and Myrtle Fetter Shepard, he was born Nov. 11, 1930, at Emporia. He attended grade school and high school in Chase County.
Mr. Shepard was a member of the American Legion in Strong City.
He is survived by two brothers, Gene Linsea of Emporia and Jerry Linsea of Cottonwood Falls; and two sisters, Nancy Peak of Hutchinson and Mary Anderson of Lancaster, Calif.
A sister, Louise Galwith Hagan, died earlier.
No services are planned at this time. Mr. Shepard was cremated.
