Hanna Taj
Hanna Taj of Emporia died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at Newman Regional Health. She was 80.
Mrs. Taj taught mathematics and English in Pakistan before she moved to Emporia in 1973.
The daughter of Ishwar and Nanie Hukembebe Dass, she was born June 20, 1926, in Stunzabad, Pakistan. She married Mangal D. Taj onAug. 1, 1959, in Stunzabad, Pakistan. He survives.
Mrs. Taj was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Aqeel Taj of Emporia and Aneel Taj of Omaha, Neb.; two brothers, Isaac Dass and Knat Dass, both of Pakistan; one sister, Grace of Pakistan; nine grandchildren; and four grandchildren.
A son, Shaqeel Taj, died at the age of 4 years.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Claudia Bakely will conduct the service. Burial will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
