Florence Bell Hughes, Council Grove

Florence Bell Hughes of Council Grove died Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at the Council Grove Healthcare Center. She was 99.
Mrs. Hughes was a homemaker.
The daughter of Frank and Alta Clark Mastin, she was born July 28, 1907, in Russell. She married Oscar Delmas Hughes on July 28, 1925, in Cottonwood Falls. He died Nov. 5, 1990.
Mrs. Hughes was a member of the Berean Baptist Church in Council Grove.
She is survived by two daughters, Irene M. Sherrer of Raymore, Mo., and Connie D. Neal of Quemado, N.M.; three sisters, Viola Hagger of Council Grove, Dora Masser of Girard and Fern McCormick of Napa, Calif.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Berean Baptist Church in Council Grove. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Council Grove. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Penwell-Gabel Council Grove chapel.
