Douglas Wayne Sutton

Emporia native Douglas Wayne Sutton died Saturday, March 10, 2007, at Western Arizona Regional Medical Center in Bullhead City, Ariz. He was 55.
Mr. Sutton was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from 1977 to 1980. He received the Meritorious Mast, a Rifle Marksmanship badge and the Good Conduct Medal.
The son of Thomas and Myrna Sutton, he was born Nov. 21, 1952, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Emporia. He grew up in Emporia and graduated from Emporia High School.
Mr. Sutton is survived by two brothers, Stephen Sutton and Ronald Sutton, both of Emporia.
His parent; and a sister, Ronda Luna, died earlier.
The service to celebrate his life will be at 2 p.m. March 31 at the Kahola Lake Provisional Shelter. Mr. Sutton was cremated, with inurnment to be at a later date.
The family suggests that, instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Douglas Wayne Sutton Memorial Fund and sent in care of ESB Financial, 801 Merchant St., Emporia, KS 66801
