No services are planned for Nelma “Jean” Ellis, 83, 1412 Walnut St., who died Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Newman Regional Health. She was cremated.
Mrs. Ellis operated an answering service for KPL before she retired in 1986.
The daughter of Benjamin H. and Maude Wilson Boyd, she was born Aug. 20, 1923, in Coffey County. She married Clifford A. Ellis on Feb. 1, 1944, at Grace United Methodist Church. He survives.
Mrs. Ellis is also survived by one daughter, Reneé J. Branson of Emporia; one son, James D. Ellis of Wichita; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
The family suggests that, instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Hand in Hand Hospice or the Emporia Friends of the Zoo and sent in care of the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, KS 66801.
