Leon M. Hill, Jetmore

JETMORE
Former Bazaar resident Leon M. Hill died Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Hodgeman County Long-Term Care Center in Jetmore. He was 89.
Mr. Hill was a Greyhound bus driver for 37 years. He lived in Cheyenne, Wyo., since 1943 and moved to Jetmore in 2006.
The son of Milton R. and Mary F. Sanders Hill, he was born April 20, 1917, at Springview, Neb. He married Elsa M. Smith on Dec. 29, 1953, at Julesburg, Colo. She died March 27, 2006.
Mr. Hill was a member of the North Christian Church in Cheyenne, Wyo.
He is survived by a daughter, Theoda Huish of Jetmore; a son, Leon M. Hill Jr., of Lincoln, Neb.; three stepdaughters, Diana Bale of Cheyenne Wyo., Karen Marcum of Westminster, Colo., and Peggy Nieto of Berthoud, Colo.; two stepsons, William Bale of Longville, La., and Ronald Bale of Ogallala, Neb.; three sisters, Gladys Diehl of Cottonwood Falls and Olivia Rylant of Fresno, Calif.; 19 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Three brothers, Robert Hill, Raymond Hill and Russell Hill, died earlier.
The service to celebrate his life will be at 4 p.m. Monday at the Flint Hills Community Church in Cottonwood Falls. The Rev. David Gass of the Cedar Point Community Church will conduct the service. Burial will be in Bazaar Cemetery at Bazaar. The family will meet friends from 2 p.m. Monday until service time at the church.
