Carmen Ruggiero, Crawfordsville, IND
Carmen Ruggiero, mother of longtime Emporia resident Monica Hashmi, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, at her home in Crawfordsville, Ind., after an extended illness. She was 85.
Mrs. Ruggiero owned and operated a dressmaking-alteration shop in Bloomington, Ind., for several years. When the family moved to Muncie, Ind., in 1967, she continued to work as a dressmaker. In 2004, she and her husband, Peter, moved to Crawfordsville to live with a daughter.
The funeral was held Feb. 24, 2007, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home in Muncie, Ind.
