Bethel A. ‘Arlene’ Sharon

Bethel A. Sharon, 82, of Waverly, died Friday, March 2, 2007, in the Life Care Center in Burlington.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Bethany Church of Christ in Waverly. Burial will be in Waverly Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. Memorial contributions to the Waverly First Responders may be sent to the funeral home at PO Box 277, Burlington, KS 66839.
Bethel Arlene Baker, daughter of Charles and Mary Alice Barnes Baker, was born May 6, 1924, on a farm near Waverly. She attended Pleasant Valley School and lived all of her life in the Waverly area.
She married Max Lowell Sharon on July 28, 1945, at Ottawa. She was a housewife and mother and worked as a home-health caretaker.
She was a member of the Bethany Church of Christ, the American Legion Auxiliary of Hull-Cromwell Post No. 119, and the 3M Club. Mrs. Sharon enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by two sons, Harlan Sharon of Emporia and Marlin Sharon of Waverly; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Harmon Baker of Fallon, Nev.; and two sisters, Maxine Yeager of Rockaway Beach, Mo. and Bonnie Brooks of Lee’s Summit, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters and five brothers.
