Berenice Rinker
The memorial service for Berenice Rinker will be at 11 a.m Tuesday in the Patio Garden of Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The Rev. Jayne Duncan of the First United Methodist Church will conduct the service.
The family suggests that, instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Rosamond Hirschorn Music Fund at the First United Methodist Church or Emporia Friends of the Zoo and sent in care of the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, KS 66801.
Miss Rinker died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, at the Golden Living Center of Chase County in Cottonwood Falls. She was 99.
She was a teller at Emporia State Bank for 20 years before she retired in 1971.
The daughter of Ezra E. and Jennie S. Helwig Rinker, she was born Sept. 18, 1907, at Ellinwood.
Miss Rinker was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Friendly Fellowship Club and the Emporia Friends of the Zoo.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Kenneth W. Rinker and G. Wayne Rinker, and two sisters, Mildred E. Rinker and Marjorie V. Rinker, died earlier.
