Lois Maxine Wiggers-Jewell

Former Emporia resident Lois Maxine Wiggers-Jewell died Saturday, May 19, 2007, at the home of her daughter in Middleburg Fla. She was 79 and had leukemia.
Mrs. Wiggers-Jewell was a service clerk at Montgomery Ward in Emporia and Newton for many years and than an office clerk at Dolly Madison Bakery in Emporia before she retired 34 years ago.
The daughter of Herman and Virginia Ruth Derrick Pratt, she was born Dec. 6, 1927, in Caldwell. She married Donovan C. Wiggers on Sept. 21, 1947. He died Sept. 5, 1989 in Sun City, Ariz. She married Bernard Jewell on Dec. 13, 1992. He died April 4, 2006, in Sun City, Ariz.
Mrs. Wiggers-Jewell was a member of the Willowbrook United Methodist Church at Sun City.
She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Boling of Emporia, Judy Edie of Middleburg, Fla., and Sharon Huggard of Tucson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A brother, Bruce Pratt, died earlier.
The memorial service to celebrate her life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Patio Garden in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
