Evelyn Virginia Hirschler, Colorado Spring, Colo.

Former Emporia resident Evelyn Virginia Hirschler of Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs died May, 29, 2007. She was 89.
Mrs. Hirschler was a teacher and secretary during World War II and also, a homemaker.
The daughter of Hugh D. and Florence Broadie Foncannon, she was born Oct. 20, 1918, in Ashland. She attended school in Ashland and graduated from the College of Emporia in 1940. She lived in Birmingham, Mich., from 1946 to 1976 and moved to Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs in 1976.
She married Daniel A. Hirschler on Dec. 25, 1941. He died earlier.
Mrs. Hirschler was a member of the Community Congregational Church and the church choir. She was a member of the American Association of University Women and Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by twin daughters, Joan Leach of Colorado Springs and Janet Link of Fort Collins, Colo.; and four grandsons.
