Florence E. Vaughn of Burlington died Friday, June 8, 2007, at the Coffey County Hospital in Burlington. She was 86.
Mr. Vaughn and her husband, Raymond Vaughn, operated livestock auctions in Burlington and Eureka. He also served several years in the Kansas legislature.
The daughter of Robert and Lillie Piper Burks, she was born Feb. 13, 1921, at Lafayette, Colo. She married Raymond C. Vaughn Jr., on May 23, 1942, at Independence. He died April 25, 1996.
Mrs. Vaughn is survived by two sisters, Bonnie Feldman of Independence, Kan., and Mecy Eakes of North Carolina; and one grandson, Vaughn Cameron Roth of Burlington. A daughter, Deborah Rae Roth; an infant son; a brother, Clifford Burks; and a sister, June Flournoy, died earlier.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Burlington. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at Burlington. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Jones Funeral Home in Burlington.
