Terry Michael Jones

The memorial service for Terry Michael Jones of Emporia will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home chapel. Kathy Williams of the Grace United Methodist Church will conduct the service. Military honors will be presented by American Legion Ball-McColm Post 5. The day of the service was omitted from the obituary published Monday.
Memorial contributions to Kansa Wildlife Federation may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, KS 66801.
Mr. Jones died Friday, June 1, 2007, at the Harry Hynes Hospice Center at Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. He was 61.
He was a self-employed businessman in Emporia for 15 years before he retired in 2004. He also was a Emporia reserve police officer from 1973 to 1984. He served from 1964 to 1968 with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
The son of Jesse A. and Pamela Elbourne Jones, he was born Nov. 13, 1945, in Tatsfield, England. He married Linda S. Carson on Feb. 12, 1969, at the United Methodist Church in Americus. She survives.
Mr. Jones was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. He also was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Quail Unlimited, Bass Masters and Parelli Horsemanship and a former member of American Legion Ball-McColm Post 5.
He is also survived by one daughter, Amber Beadles of Emporia; his mother of Emporia; one brother, Jimmy Jones of the Kansas City area; three sisters, Mary Miller and Pamela Sue Hamm, both of Marion, and Elizabeth Tipton of Florida; and one grandson, William Beadles of Emporia.
His father and two brothers, Rodney Jones and Don Jones, died earlier.
