Lawrence H. Jeck
Madison native Lawrence H. Jeck of Emporia died Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at Newman Regional Health. He was 87.
Mr. Jeck was an oil-field supply store manager for Misco Supply Company for 35 years in Kimball, Neb., before he retired. He moved from Kimball to Emporia in December 1988. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
The son of Emil W. and Anna M. Conrade Jeck, he was born March 27, 1920, in Madison. He married Donna I. Derbyshire on Sept. 19, 1942, at Emporia. She survives.
Mr. Jeck is also survived by one son, Larry D. Jeck of Emporia; and seven sisters, Lucille Hess of Emporia, Madeline Harlan and Dorothy Cox, both of Madison, Anna Morris of Allen, Teresa Jones of Wichita, Gladys Earnshaw of Lees Summit, Mo., and Mary Cassity of Beaumont, Texas.
Two brothers, Leo Jeck and Anton Jeck, died earlier.
The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church in Madison. The Rev. Bob Robison will conduct the service. Mr. Jeck was cremated.
The family suggests that, instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association and sent in care of the Wilson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 488, Madison, KS 66860.
