Ernestine Juanita Donelson

Ernestine Juanita Donelson, 727 E. Ninth Ave., died Monday, July 16, 2007, at Newman Regional Health. She was 71.
Mrs. Donelson was an elementary school teacher for three years and then activity director oin the Newman Skilled Care Unit at Newman Regional Health for 11 years before she retired in 1998.
The daughter of Walter J. and Ernestine Mosher Spencer, she was born March 15, 1936, at Emporia. She married Kenneth Donelson on Jan. 26, 1958, at Emporia. He survives.
Mrs. Donelson was a member of the First Christian Church, the church choir and the Disciples Women’s Fellowship. She also was a member of the Pep and Progress extension homemaker unit and the Bluestem Swingers Square Dance Club and, earlier, was a 4-H project leader.
She is survived by one son, Rodney L. Donelson of Emporia; two daughters, Deanne R. Swan of Emporia and Teresa A. Kraft of Americus; two brothers, Walter E. Spencer of Emporia and Albert E. Spencer of Westmoreland; two sisters, Doris Danford of Strong City and Alta Strboya of Vista, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. One brother, Jack Spencer; and one sister, Mary Alice Spencer Schade, died earlier.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church. The Rev. Bob Colerick will conduct the service. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery at Toledo Township.
