Everett Ray Carson, Olpe
Everett Ray “Hap” Carson died Friday, July 13, 2007, at his home in Olpe. He was 91.
Mr. Carson was shop supervisor and mechanic for Fluor and a maintenance man for St. Joseph Catholic School.
The son of Westly and Florence Cox Carson, he was born Nov. 27, 1915, at Council Grove. He married Edna Stephens in 1960. She survives.
Mr. Carson was a member of the Sunshine Camping Club in Madison.
He is also survived by one son, Roger Mathia of Paola; one sister, Jessie Dann of Portland, Ore.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Five brothers and four sisters died earlier.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Charter Funerals - Emporia Chapel. Chaplain Hal Lewis will conduct the service. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery at Olpe. The family will meet friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
The family suggests that, instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Hand in Hand Hospice and sent in care of the funeral home, 501 W. Sixth Ave., Emporia, KS 66801.
