Lloyd E. Nichols, Eureka

Lloyd E. Nichols, a lifetime resident of Eureka, died Monday, July 9, 2007, at Medicalodge of Eureka. He was 95.
Mr. Nichols was a longtime farmer and rancher and had worked the farm until six months before his death.
The son of John Carl and Bonnie Brown Nichols, he was born June 13, 1912, in Eureka. He grew up in the Eureka area and graduated from Tonovay High School in 1930.
He married Dorothy Ellen Snider on May 9, 1937, in Eureka. She died Feb. 4, 1998.
Mr. Nichols was a member of the Christian and Congregational Church. He was also a member of the Greenwood County Cattlemen’s Association and various other organizations.
He is survived by a son, Lonnie Nichols of Eureka; a daughter, Lorena Oblander of Redmond, Wash.; a brother, Wayne Nichols of Overland Park; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Janice Nichols, and three brothers died earlier.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Koup Family Funeral Home in Eureka. The Rev. Rhonda K. Almond of the Christian and Congregational Church will conduct the service. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
