LaVerna Nadine ‘Lea’ Yates Trader, Longview, Texas

Former Halls Summit resident LaVerna Nadine “Lea” Trader of Longview, Texas, died Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at Longview Regional Hospital and Clairmont Express Recovery in Longview. She was 88.
The daughter of Leonard Albert and Bertie Pearl Thomas Yates, she was born April 21, 1919, in Halls Summit, where she grew up. She graduated from high school at Hutchinson.
She married Murrell E. Trader in May 1958 at Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1973, they adopted their three children. Mr. Trader died in 2001.
Mrs. Trader was a member of the First Christian Church in Burlington in her early years and later, the White Oak Christian Church in Cincinnati.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry Trader and Charles Trader, both of Cincinnati; one daughter, Edith Kuchera of Cincinnati; four sisters, Dolorus Nethercot of Cleveland, Okla., Leona Knachel of Helena, Mont, Nancy Stewart of Yakima, Wash., and Lois Ann Dulaney of Longview, Texas; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
A brother, Leonard A. Yates Jr., died earlier.
The graveside service will at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Glendale Cemetery, northeast of Burlington.
The family suggests that, instead of flowers, memorial contributions be sent to the First Christian Church, 706 N. Sixth St., Longview, Texas 75601; the Diabetes Foundation in care of the Jones Funeral Home, P.O. Box 277, Burlington, KS 66839; or Millie’s Ministries, 315 Eden Drive, No. 41, Longview, Texas 75605.
