Phyllis Pauline Mahoney, Burlington

Phyllis Pauline Mahoney of Burlington died Saturday, June 30, 2007, at the Coffey County Hospital in Burlington. She was 89.
Mrs. Mahoney was the overseer of the fruits and vegetables at the Coffey County Fair for 20 years. She moved from Glenrose, Texas, to Burlington in 1968.
The daughter of Dwight and Coraleah Kirk Story, she was born July 24, 1917, in Wilson County. She married Phillip Edward Mahoney on Nov. 8, 1940, at Fredonia. He died April 6, 1988.
Mrs. Mahoney was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Burlington.
She is survived by three sons, Barney Mahoney of Burlington, Merlyn Mahoney of Ozawkie and Dwight Mahoney of Thornton, Texas; three daughters, Mary Brown of Hurst, Texas, Cora Kiene of Burleson, Texas, and Delores Hess of Crowley, Texas; 20 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
A son, Mike Mahoney, and a sister, Ruby Osborne, died earlier.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Burlington. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Burlington. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the church.
