Dorothy Ellen Evans, Lebo

Dorothy Ellen Evans, a lifetime resident of the Lebo community, died Saturday, June 30, 2007, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. She was 93.
Mrs. Evans was a homemaker and also helped her husband, Dan Evans, publish the Lebo Enterprise newspaper for many years.
The daughter of James S. and Elza M. Wilhoite Brandon, she was born Oct. 31, 1913, in Lebo. She graduated from Lebo High School and later attended Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia, where she was a member of the Madrigalians music group.
She married Dan C. Evans on June 6, 1937, in Liberty, Mo. He died Dec. 24, 1986.
Mrs. Evans was a member of the Lebo Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years.. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Lindbloom of Osage City and Bonnie Christiansen of Lebo; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Lebo Baptist Church. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery at Lebo. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo.
