David Paul Trimble Jr., MD, Shawnee
Emporia native David Paul Trimble Jr., MD died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at his home in Shawnee. He had Lewy Bodies Disease. He was 69.
Mr. Trimble, a fourth-generation medical doctor in the Trimble family, had a private practice in the Kansas City area, specializing in rheumatology. He served for more than 25 years on the staff of the Kansas City Veterans Hospital until his retirement in 2003. He was chosen Employee of the Year several times.
He was a captain in the Air Force Reserve and trained as a flight surgeon.
The son of Paul and Agnes Trimble, he was born July 15, 1937, at Emporia. He graduated from Emporia High School in 1955, from the University of Kansas with a bachelor’s degree and from the University of Arkansas with a medical degree.
Mr. Trimble is survived by his wife, Lynda; one son, David Paul Trimble III; one daughter, Wendy Scott; one brother, Steve Trimble of St. Paul, Minn.; and two grandchildren. His parents and a brother, Jerry Trimble, died earlier.
