Howard Griffin Wood, Hartford
Howard Griffin Wood of Hartford died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park. He was 59.
Mr. Wood worked in maintenance at Bunge for 28 years. He lived in the Lyon and Coffey county area and moved to Hartford in 1983.
The son of Leslie Allen Sr. and Eunice Olive Griffin Wood, he was born Nov. 30, 1947, in Arkansas. He married Dorothy Plevka. They were divorced. He married Connie F. Elliott on June 6, 1980. She survives.
Mr. Wood was a member of the Hartford Christian Church.
He is also survived by three daughters, Joyce Wood of the home, Jeannie Wood of Portland, Ore., and Crystal Wood of Point Lookout, Mo.; two sons, S. Vince Wood of Goddard and J. Zane Wood of Kansas City, Kan.; three sisters, Annabelle Rowell of Branson, Mo., Frances Wallace of Ridgedale, Mo., and Sally Jahrling of Liberty, Mo.; two brothers, Henry Wood of Galena, Mo., and William Wood of Pierce City, Mo.; and two grandchildren. His parents and two brothers, Chester Wood and Leslie Allen Wood Jr., died earlier.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Hartford Christian Church. Burial will be in Hartford Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home at Lebo.
