Richard Harold Rowley, Wichita
Richard Harold Rowley, 65, died of cancer on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, in his home.
Richard Rowley, the son of Harold and Lillian Day Rowley, was born Oct. 27, 1942, in San Bernardino, Calif. He graduated from Northern Heights High School and served from 1960 to 1966 in the U.S. Army. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and later for The Emporia Gazette.
He married Doris Topper on July 19, 1969.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Michael Rowley of Emporia and Jeff and Justin Rowley of Wichita; one daughter, Lisa Rowley of Mountain View, Calif.; five grandchildren; and one sister, Linda Johnson of Mojave, Ariz.
His parents and a sister, Dorothy Rowley, died earlier.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorial contributions will be used to help defray funeral expenses.
