Dorothy Weeks

Dorothy Weeks, formerly of 1602 Stanton St., died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at the Holiday Resort Care Center, where she was a resident. She was 92.
Mrs. Weeks was a homemaker.
The daughter of Uriah C. and Hilda Hammond McGuire, she was born Feb. 15, 1914, at Yale, Okla. She married Charles M. Lane on Nov. 6, 1930, in Cushing, Okla. He died Jan. 4. 1957. She married Lawrence C. Weeks on Sept. 28, 1974, in Emporia. He died Jan. 22, 2002.
Mrs. Weeks was a member of the Americus Southern Baptist Church. She also was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Lowry-Funston Post 1980 Auxiliary, American Legion Ball-McColm Post 5 and the Emporia Bowling Association.
She is survived by two sons, Michael V. Lane of Emporia and George D. Lane of Crystal Lake, Ill.; one daughter, Lila R. Pepe of Albuquerque, N.M.; two stepsons, Robert B. Weeks of Omaha, Neb., and Charles C. Weeks of Missouri; 13 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Americus Southern Baptist Church. The Rev. Dean Fox will conduct the service. Burial will be at Americus Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.

Mrs. Weeks’ stepson, Charles C. Weeks, is from Lakewood, Mo. The city was not given to The Gazette for the obituary published Monday.
