Thomas Glen Wheele, Jacobs Creek

Thomas Glen Wheeler died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at his home in Jacobs Creek. He was 79.
Mr. Wheeler was a car man for the Union Pacific Railroad from 1951 until he retired in 1987. After his retirement, he and his wife moved from Kansas City to Jacobs Creek. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
The son of Vernon and Maude Willis Wheeler, he was born Nov. 19, 1927, in Lebanon, Mo. He married Phyllis Y. Cline on Nov. 25, 1948, in Kansas City, Kan. She survives.
Mr. Wheeler was a member of the Burlington Bible Church.
He is survived by three daughters, Linda Smith of Emporia, Ann Reynolds of Edwardsville and Vickie Smith of Warsaw, Mo.; one brother, Robert Wheeler of Kansas City, Kan.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A sister, Lula Barber, died earlier.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Jones Funeral Home at Burlington. Burial will be in Strawn Cemetery at Jacobs Creek. The family will meet friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time.
