Helen Elizabeth Schmidtke

The funeral for Helen Elizabeth Schmidtke, 1531 Wheeler St., will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Charter Funerals-Emporia Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 8 a.m. Monday until service time.
Memorial contributions to the Messiah Lutheran Church Memorial Fund may be sent in care of the funeral home, 501 W. Sixth Ave., Emporia, KS 66801.
Mrs. Schmidtke died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at the Flint Hills Care Center. She was 82.
She was a homemaker.
The daughter of Simon and Frona Schafer Frank, she was born June 7, 1924, in Leoti. She married Herbert Schmidtke, who died earlier.
Mrs. Schmidtke was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. She also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
She is survived by one son, Kenneth Schmidtke of St. Joseph, Mo.; and one brother, Alvin Frank of Alamosa, Colo.
Two brothers, Ted Frank and George Frank; and three sisters, Dorothy, Hannah and Pamona, died earlier.
