Loren R. Barber, Edcouch, Texas

Loren R. Barber, 64, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, in Edcouch, Texas.
Mr. Barber lived in Emporia from 1975 until 2004. He worked in the furniture business and also owned Paradise Mobile Home Park before his retirement in 2000.
Loren R. Barber was born Sept. 19, 1942, in Junction City, the son of Robert and Ada Petersen Barber. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the 1960s and was in service during the Cuban missile crisis.
He is survived by his second wife, Joanne M. Gomez, whom he married July 7, 1998, in Emporia. Other survivors include two brothers, Keith Barber of Emporia and James Barber of White City; a daughter, Robin Fullen of Lake Charles, La.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was a member of the Lutheran church in White City.
Services will be announced later, according to the family. Cremation has taken place.
