David E. Facklam, Raytown, MO.

Former Emporian David E. Facklam of Raytown, Mo., died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City after a six-year battle with cancer. He was 60.
Mr. Facklam worked for the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railroad for 37 years before he retired. He lived in Emporia until 1990.
He was the son of the late John and Bernadine Facklam of Emporia. He graduated from Emporia High School in 1964 and attended Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia.
Mr. Facklam is survived by his wife, Janice Craig Facklam; four sons, Jeff Facklam of Overland Park and Jon Facklam of Springfield, Mo., Craig Bright of Wichita and John Bright of Sand Springs, Okla.; one daughter, Shelli Bright of Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, Duane Facklam and Dean Facklam, both of Raytown, Mo.; and two sisters, Jeanette Burris of Shawnee Mission and Barbara Crawford of Denver, Colo.; and 12 grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Heartland Funeral Home in Raytown, Mo. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions to Children’s Mercy Hospital may be sent in care of the funeral Home, 6113 Blue Ridge Boulevard, Raytown, MO 64133.
