Vivian Hays, Little Rock, Ark.
Former Emporia resident Vivian Hays of Little Rock, Ark., died in a local Little Rock hospital Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006. She was 94.
The daughter of Washington Irving and Ethel Thompson Tucker, she was born Aug. 2, 1912 at Camden , Mo., and grew up in Emporia. She married Edmund Davis Hays in 1936 in Colorado. He survives.
They moved to Arkansas in 1939 and raised their family in Fort Smith. After 45 years in Fort Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Hays lived in South Carolina, in an assisted living center in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and finally, in Chenal Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Little Rock.
Mrs. Tucker is also survived by a son, Don Hays of Little Rock; a daughter, Eddie Sue Hays Ryan of Indianapolis, Ind.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at North Little Rock, Ark. There will be no scheduled service per Mrs. Hays’ request.
