Raymond C. Adams, Olpe

Raymond C. Adams, 70, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, at his home in rural Olpe.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Lucille Barb of the United Methodist Church in Olpe. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery in Oatville, Ks.
Memorial contributions to Hand in Hand Hospice may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 175, Emporia KS 66801.
Raymond C. Adams, the son of Christopher Leroy and Juanita Samson Adams, was born Sept. 26, 1936, at Bartlesville, Okla. He married Sandra Kay Fowler at Bartlesville on Sept. 26, 1954. She survives.
Mr. Adams, who moved to this area from Wichita in 1977, had worked as a truck driver for Santa Fe Transportation Co. and later for Interstate Brands/Dolly Madison Bakeries of Emporia. He had been retired for nine years.
He had served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960 and had been a member of the Teamsters Union for 38 years.
Mr. Adams also is survived by two sons, Steve Adams of Valdez, Alaska, and Jeff Adams of Emporia; two daughters, Suzanna Gerlach of Conway Springs, Ks. and Becky Ensley of Topeka; his mother, Juanita Crawford of Nowata, Okla.; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A son, Donald V. Adams, died in 1992.
