Berniece Merritt Crocker

Berniece Merritt Crocker, 95, died Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Topeka Presbyterian Manor.
The funeral service was held today at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel in Topeka, with burial in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka.
Berniece Merritt, the daughter of Arthur Robert and Dora Elmira Smith Merritt, was born Dec. 6, 1911, near Manhattan, Ks. She married Frank M. Crocker on Sept. 5, 1940, in Harrisonville, Mo. He died on Jan. 31, 1968. She and her husband had been real-estate brokers in Topeka for many years.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister, Mildred M. Holliday, who had lived in Emporia. Among her survivors are a niece, Lori Thomsen, and two great-nephews, Chris Thomsen of Emporia and Darin Thomsen of Americus.
Memorials to the Central Park Christian Church, where Mrs. Crocker was a member and elder, may be sent to the funeral home, 1321 SW 10th St., Topeka KS 66604.
