Loren R. Barber
A memorial service for Emporian Loren R. Barber, 64, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Marion Hill Lutheran Church.
Mr. Barber, formerly of White City, died Jan. 2, 2007, at Edcouch, Texas, where he was a winter resident.
The son of Robert and Ada Peterson Barber, Loren Barber was born Sept. 19, 1942, at Junction City. He spent most of his life in White City before moving to Emporia in the 1990s. He married Joann Gomez July 7, 1998, at White City.
Mr. Barber worked at Dolly Madison in Emporia and owned the Paradise Mobile Home Park before he retired.
He is survived by his wife of the home; two brothers, Keith Barber of Emporia and James Barber of White City; a daughter, Robin Fullen of Lake Charles, La.; a grandson, granddaughter and great-granddaughter.
Mr. Barber has been cremated. The service on Saturday will be conducted by the Rev. Lowell Evans of Marion Hill Lutheran Church, which is three miles east and four miles north of White City.
The family suggests that, instead of flowers, donations in Mr. Barber’s memory be sent to the Office of Veterans Affairs, 702 Commercial St., Emporia KS 66801.
