Orville Lee Tyson, Waverly
Orville Lee Tyson died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, at his home in Waverly. He was 81.
Mr. Tyson, who lived most of his life in Waverly, worked as an electrician until he retired in 1987.
The son of William Grant and Stella Mae Tull Tyson, he was born Aug. 23, 1925, at Barclay. He married Ruby Bernice Buckridge. They were divorced. He married Christine Phillips on Nov. 5, 1968, at Miami, Okla. She survives.
Mr. Tyson was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in Topeka.
He is also survived by one son, Randall Ray Tyson of Ottawa; one daughter, Jean Lorree Tyson of Fort White, Fla.; one stepson, Kenny Cooper of Overland Park; three stepdaughters, Betty Lewis and Karen Tiffany, both of Topeka, and Susan Mulryan of Dwight; one brother, Grant Tyson of Waverly; two sisters, Barbara Warner of Melvern and Helen Sook of Wichita; 15 grandchilden; and 11 great-grandchildren. Two sons, Jerry Lee Tyson and Richard Orville Tyson; one brother, Tom Tyson; and one sister, Betty Tyson, died earlier.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Jones Funeral Home at Burlington. Burial will be in Waverly Cemetery at Waverly. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
