Shelly Kay Pitman, Osage City
Shelly Kay Pitman of Osage City died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, in an automobile accident in Atchison County. She was 37.
Mrs. Pitman, a licensed practical nurse, worked at the Rolling Hills Nursing Home in Topeka for the past five years.
The daughter of Lewis and Lora Lee Crady Meek, she was born Jan. 1, 1970, at Ottawa. She graduated from Osage City High School in 1988. She attended Topeka Technical School for computer training and later attended the Flint Hills Area Vocational Technical school for nursing training.
She married Jason Pitman on Feb. 22, 2003, at Topeka. He survives.
Mrs. Pitman is also survived by two sons, Noah David Pitman and Nicholas Carter Pitman, both of the home in Osage City; her parents of Osage City; two sisters, Carla Sue Bomberger and Marsa Ann Berry, both of Osage City; one brother, Brad Meek of Osage City; and her paternal grandmother, Ruth Paul of Lyndon.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City. Burial will be in the Osage City Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
