Marjorie Lindemann Davis
Marjorie E. Lindemann Davis died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, at the Flint Hills Care Center. She was 84.
Mrs. Davis, a longtime resident of Cunningham, was a homemaker and retired assistant postmaster at the Cunningham Post Office. She moved to Hutchinson in 1984 and later, to Emporia.
The daughter of Clairince W. and Marguerite E. Armor Briscoe, she was born May 26, 1922, at Bowling Green, Mo. She married Sylvester Lindemann Sr., on May 28, 1941, at St. Clements, Mo. He died Dec. 2, 1983. She married Bernard Dean Davis on April 19, 1997, at Emporia. He survives.
Mrs. Davis was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary, both in Emporia.
She is also survived by a son, Sylvester Lindemann Jr., of Olympia, Wash.; two daughters, Marguerite Roberts of Emporia and Susie Gaut of Littleton, Colo.; four stepsons, Ronald Davis, Roger Davis, Craig Davis and Kirk Davis, all of Emporia; a brother, Jack Briscoe of Hannibal, Mo.; a sister, Florence Williams of St. Charles, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A brother, Raymond Briscoe, died earlier.
The graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Cunningham Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m Thursday at the Livingston Funeral Home at Kingman. The memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. March 1, 2007, at the Emporia Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Darren Henson will be the celebrant.
