Shellie Smith, Lyndon
Emporia native Shellie Smith of Lyndon died Monday, Jan. 29, 2007, at a hospital in Topeka. She was 36.
Ms. Smith lived in Topeka for five years, but lived in Lyndon for most of her life.
The daughter of Gary and Eunice Schaefer, she was born Sept. 21, 1970, at Emporia. She graduated from Lyndon High School in 1989.
She married Ted Tartenaar at Lyndon. They were divorced.
Ms. Smith is survived by her mother and stepfather, Larry and Eunice Wedermyer of Lyndon; her father and stepmother, Gary and Letha Smith of Topeka; one brother, Troy Smith of Topeka; one half sister, Tina McComb of Ottawa; three stepbrothers, Andy Wedermyer of Lawrence, Nathan Wedermyer of Baldwin City and Scott Treinen of Topeka; and two stepsisters, Cheryl Beach of Baldwin City and Stacy Treinen of Topeka.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Feltner Funeral Home chapel at Lyndon. Committal services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Chicago Mound Cemetery, southeast of Emporia. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
