Leonard "Red" K. Schlup, Hesston

Leonard K. “Red” Schlup, 75, of Hesston died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007, at Schowalter Villa in Hesston. Survivors in the area include a son, Steven Schlup of Cottonwood Falls.
Mr. Schlup was a retired locomotive engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Meridian Baptist Church in Newton. The graveside service with military honors will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Rose Hill Cemetery in South Haven. The family will meet friends from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
Memorial contributions to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital may be sent in care of the funeral home, 215 N. Main, Newton, KS 67114.
