Colleen Virginia Fisher, Emporia

1932 - 2007

Matfield Green native Colleen Virginia Fisher died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007, at her home in Emporia. Mrs. Fisher, who was retired from Bunge Corp. after 22 years as a secretary, was 75.
She was born April 27, 1932, in Matfield Green, the daughter of Donald R. and Chrystal R. Bocook Carnine. She married William L. Parks on Jan. 21, 1951, in Emporia. He died earlier. On Feb. 14, 1978, she married William W. Fisher in Las Vegas, Nev. He died Jan. 22, 1998.
Mrs. Fisher was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the auxiliary of Lowry-Funston Post 1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in Emporia.
She is survived by five sons, Rex Parks of Kansas City, Mo.; Gregg Parks of Sioux City, Iowa; Mark Parks of Kansas City, Kan.; Todd Parks of Emporia; and Brett Parks of Olathe. A brother, Ray L. Carnine of Emporia, also survives, as do nine grandchildren.
Mrs. Fisher is to be cremated. A memorial service will be held in the spring at the Matfield Green Cemetery.
