John Andrew Weber Jr.
John Andrew Weber Jr., 812 Woodland St., formerly of Anchorage, Alaska, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at Colmery-O’Neil Veterans Administration Hospital in Topeka. He was 56.
Mr. Weber worked for the Alaska Department of Corrections for 18 years. For the past six years he was a mortgage officer with Alaska Mortgage in Anchorage. He served with the U.S. Army from 1974 to 1976.
The son of John Andrew Sr., and Marilyn Friedebach Weber, he was born Jan. 26, 1951, at Kansas City, Mo. He married Grace Scott in January 1978. They were divorced. He married Muoi Thi Nguyen on Dec. 30, 2005, at Anchorage. She survives.
Mr. Weber was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He also is survived by two sons, Justin A. Weber and Gregory J. Weber, both of Anchorage; one stepson, Phong Nguyen of the home; his parents in Emporia; two sisters, Joyce Weber of Emporia and Sharon Wallace of Anchorage and two brothers, Mark Weber of Ottawa and David Weber of Olathe.
The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the church. The Rev. Darren Henson will be the celebrant.
Burial, with services to be conducted by American Legion Ball-McColm Post 1980 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Lowry-Funston Post 1980, will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
