Clyde Jason Swisher, Council Grove
COUNCIL GROVE
Clyde Jason Swisher of Council Grove died Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at the Morris County Hospital in Council Grove. He was 87.
Mr. Swisher was a longtime farmer and also worked at the Fairmont Creamery for six years.
The son of Joseph John and Sylvia Stewart Swisher, he was born Aug. 10, 1920, in Saline County. He married Stella Marie Brownell on March 25, 1944, at the Hillside Christian Church in Wichita. She survives.
Mr. Swisher was a member of the Wilsey Christian Church.
He is also survived by one daughter, Cindy Hayes of Emporia; two sons, Phillip Swisher of Council Grove and Jeffery Swisher of McPherson; one brother, Virgil Swisher of Council Grove; one sister, Ethelene Cook of Council Grove; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A sister, Margaret Shubert, a granddaughter, Jessica Ann Swisher and a great-grandson, William Jeffery Swisher, died earlier.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Wilsey Christian Church. Burial will be in Wilsey Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Penwell-Gabel Council Grove Chapel. Friends also may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
